Gauge Cluster Round 2
After the gauge cluster still was not working, I decided to take a second look. I read more and more about the clusters in the Audi 90 (Sedans) vs the Coupes until I found enough conflicting information to thoroughly confuse me. I was reading signs that this was already a franken-cluster of some sort as the pulse regulator for the odometer was correct for the vehicle, but there were bits swapped out from other cars that did not match. After brushing up on some of my wiring and soldering skills I believed I should take another good look at the cluster to see if I could see any new problems. Upon further inspection, there were some crusty-looking sections of the board where some chips and resistors were soldered on. Some of this was likely aged flux or something along those lines, but some of the connections looked VERY crusty. I also found a few bad resistors and decided the best plan of action was to just look for another or deal with a zero-function cluster as sourcing these chips if they were bad, would be impossible.
