AERO Experience
The University of Vermont Alternative Energy Racing Organization (AERO) was the FSAE© Hybrid racing team. My time at AERO was mainly focused on cooling systems and helping out chassis teams when possible. I was the lead of cooling for two iterations of cars that were run at competition. I designed from the ground up cooling systems using custom-designed mounts and a hand-selected assortment of parts. I also conducted tire tests to see what was the best pressures, compounds, and dimensions to be running on our car to simulate competition conditions. During this process, I was exposed to chassis, frame, and suspension design as this was the most interesting part of the design process to me. When I had left the University of Vermont, I worked remotely on the designs for the car, going up to build and test the systems on my breaks from classes. Overall the AERO team was the most enjoyable experience of my college career and wish I could have taken it back with me to the University of Rhode Island after transferring.
